ENERGIE | ENERGY
With ENERGY | ENERGIE, the Centre for International Light Art and Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst with RAUM SCHROTH at the Museum Wilhelm Morgner in Soest present a joint exhibition to the power which underlies everything. The exhibition brings together energy-emitting works from the Sammlung Schroth that complement, relate to and interact with each other.
Energy is universal, transformative and infinite. Energy is essential to life – and access to energy so indispensable, that a shortage quickly triggers crises on both a small and large scale. As a fundamental component of life, a prerequisite as it were, energy is also a central theme in art, whether in the form of sensitive dependencies or surprising transformations. The exhibition in Unna and Soest illuminates various forms of energy that are inherent, for example, in creative processes, colour contrasts or tensions in the materials that were used.
Participating artists in Unna: Brent Birnbaum, Spencer Finch, molitor & kuzmin, François Morellet, Annette Sauermann, Bosse Sudenburg, Heiner Thiel, Jan van Munster and others.
Participating artists in Soest: Chul Hyun Ahn, Jill Baroff, Frank Gerritz, Martin Gerwers, Jo Kuhn, Susan Morris, Jan van Munster, Anton Quiring, Ivo Ringe, Günther Uecker, Ignacio Uriarte, Peter Weber, Martin Willing and others.
A combined ticket for both exhibitions includes a return journey between Unna and Soest by train with Eurobahn (approx. 20 min.).
